The Furry Friend Tag

I saw this tag on Life as Unusual’s blog last week,
and as I’ve been wanted to do a puppy themed post, but I have a full on brain
fog going on at the mo I just haven’t written one, it seemed like a perfect
post to do.

If you’ve been hanging round here for a while you might know
some of this info, but I don’t think you can ever have enough puppy spam!

What is your pet’s name?

Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel. Of course!

What kind of pet is it and what breed?
They are both Jugs – Jack russell pug crosses. The
naughtiest of all the crosses!

How long have you had your pet friend?
Flash has been with us for over 5 years now, and Melle, nearly two. I do
wonder if Flash thinks back to the golden days when he was an only dog, but I
think he loves having a brother, really, deep, deep down!
How did you get your pet?
Both dogs came as puppies. I’ve discussed this before so don’t want to get
in to it too much – we tried to get a rescue puppy when we were looking for
Melle but the rescues we applied to wouldn’t let us have a boy puppy with a boy
dog! Go figure!

How old is your pet?

Flash is 5 ½ and Melle turned 2 last week. Happy birthday Puppy.

What are the nicknames that you call your pet?
Get ready for the list;
Flash – Flasherino, Grumpzilla, Poopy, Grumpasaurus, Jerk.
Melle – Butt pickle, Asshole, Melle No, get out of the dishwasher.

What are some quirky things about your pet’s personality?

Flash is a grumpy little monster, he gives the greatest dirty looks on the
planet, but he also gives the greatest snuggles that you could ever imagine. He
loves bringing guests a toy when they come in the house and he hates people
leaving. REALLY hates it. He’s obsessed with sugarsnap peas and chasing his
ball.

Melle is possibly the most loving dog you’ll meet – if he likes you. If he doesn’t
he’s a jerk. But he loves being with people, he will sit on or next to you in a
second. He also loves chewing – antlers, toys, socks and pants – chewing is
everything. He’s also a massive fan of running like a loon in the park and has a hatred of
black dogs – especially labs. Yes, we know, jerk.
What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?
I love my dogs. LOVE THEM. They’re fab companions and have been such a
crutch over the last year – they have no idea that they have been this crutch
to me, but they have. I also love the relationship Jim has with them too. He loves
those dogs so much!

What are some of your favourite past times with your pet?
I love getting out in to the countryside with the dogs. Taking them on long
walks (so hopefully they’ll sleep later on!) is the best way to spend the
weekend. I’m a big fan of snuggles too. Especially sofa snuggles where it means I can’t get up again because I have a dog sat on me. And whilst it’s not a favourite I also find myself realising there hasn’t been any noise from a dog in a while and having to go discover what naughtiness they’re up to – usually eating pants!

I’m also a big fan of trying to make them sit still so I can get instagram pics for their account @_flashpuppy. Lets just say it‘s a hell of a good job my camera has 4K photo because being still is not their favourite!

And whilst we’re talking about the dogs, I got an email the other day about a super fun sounding event – Wet Nose Day. It’s essentially Red Nose Day but raising money for animal charities across the country. And it’s tomorrow. So look it up!

I think it’s such a great idea because animal charities really struggle with funding. Flash and Melle will be donating their antler fund for the month to support the day, and I’m sure they’ll be putting their very own wet noses to good use!
