Chocolate Orange Cakes I made in December – not quite a chocolate bar……. |
I need your help good people of the internet.
It’s the IronCupake:Leeds next weekend and the theme is chocolate bars.
The boys and I are have frequent debates as to the definition of a chocolate bar, and after much thinking I have abandoned my ideas on trying to make a Drifter cake.
So – answers on a postcard {or in the comment box if thats easier please –
- what would you say is your favourite chocolate bar?
- Do you think it can be made into a cake?
- Or do you have any recipes that might help me out.
All suggestions will be thankfully received.
I've never made this, but I love Snickers bars, and this cake sounds divine. You have Snickers in the UK, right?

I look forward to finding out what you come up with.
My favourite is a Fry's Peppermint Cream but I'm not sure how you could turn this into a cake, unless you melted it for the topping (mmm).
You could do a Pimp My Snack kinda thing and make a large cake version of an actual chocolate bar (although not sure how strict they are on definitions of cupcakes/chocolate bars). Perhaps something like a Reese's peanut butter cup could work – chocolate cake with melting peanut centre?
Good luck with it!
Keenie,
We do indeed have snickers. The boy is quite excited by that idea…..
And Helen, I hadn't even thought of going minty. But that's a great idea – i am going to investigate getting a good mint flavouring.
Thank you.
